Electronic instrumentals for corporate videos - this work?

Post by ComposerLDG » Sat Mar 23, 2019 5:43 am

Hi everyone, I'm writing a few cues for this listing. This one is called "Neutrons." Think it fits the bill? Feedback appreciated. Thanks!

https://soundcloud.com/ldigiorgi/neutrons

ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed for Corporate Videos by a very busy Music Library with a very long list of impressive placements in Film, TV, and Commercials. They’re searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that are in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following examples:

Apple Watch – Rise

Volkswagen Touareg (2019) Technological Features

Galaxy S10: Official Introduction

Please submit slick and sophisticated sounding Electronic Instrumentals that could work well in the context of Corporate Videos – meaning that they’re primarily intended to be “wallpaper” in most cases.

• Electronic? Yes.

• Arpeggiated parts on top of pads? Check!

• Ambient, light, positive? Check, check, check!

Oftentimes, the music in Corporate Videos doesn’t have as much forward momentum or build up as one might hear in other types of instrumentals created for other uses, but there is some! We’ve also noticed that there’s a new trend in using pitched-up, trippy-sounding Non-Lyrical Vocal Samples in these tracks. But, as always, be careful to not overdo it!

Be sure your synth patches are all current-sounding and not dated.

Quoting the Music Library: “Writers should be aware that corporate video music doesn’t mean cheesy, low production values or bad MIDI sounds, of course!”

Our take: Send them sophisticated-sounding “wallpaper” that doesn’t really need to enhance an emotion so much as create a vibe and atmosphere. As is often the case, simpler may be better.

I really like this - minimal yet interesting but not intrusive. I wanted to submit to this listing as well but just couldn't find time or inspiration. Good luck!

Thanks, Robert. You still have time, the deadline isn't until April 2!

Sounds great! Reminds me for some reason of some hi-tech video presentation and also some "molecular gastronomy" video I stumbled over, not my thing, but both videos had music like this vibe and both worked perfectly!!! 8-)

Seems someone has snatched the listing away? Can't find it.

Sounds great Loren!

One thing you might want to try and mess around with to see if it works is a slow ,downard moving High-pass filter on the main little arpeggio thing, starting at about 1:04 in or so. Nothing to crazy, but enough to maybe break up the monotony of it and allow the little embellishments you throw in to shine a bit more. Then slowly bring the HPF back up as a way to tie it all together.

Keep it up! I can totally hear this being used in the context of the listing quite easily! :)

Nice job Loren!

Maybe you could pause the synthpad that is playing all the way through for a short section and let part of the main theme play alone.
Just an idea, I think it could create some nice space.
…I also like Andrews idea with an automated highpass filter there

Good luck!

Thanks! The listing should still be there. I can't remember if it was a Dispatch listing or not, though. I'll check.

Thanks for the feedback, and I agree! Something to break it up a little bit here and there to keep it interesting and moving along. I'll try some things!
