Forward for Major Artist - Emotional Piano/Vocal

Post by VanderBoegh » Fri Apr 12, 2019 5:17 pm

When doing my rounds as a mentor at the "meet & greet" lunch last Road Rally, I met a great singer/songwriter named Tamara Miller. Tamara and I exchanged cards, and she reached out after the Rally to collaborate on some music.

We've done two songs so far, and it's been great working with her. Not only is she a great songwriter, pianist, and singer, but we're doing music that I would NEVER do on my own, haha. I mean, this stuff is so out of my normal wheelhouse, it's in a completely different ballgame. But that's the beauty of collaborations. AND, it shows - yet again - the beauty of going to the Road Rally.

Anyway, we just got a forward for our second song "Let Go": for this following listing:

A STRIPPED-DOWN PIANO-Based POP BALLAD with Female Vocals is needed by the Head of A&R at a Major Publishing Company for a Major Label Artist that’s working on a new album.

Please submit Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs that are in the general stylistic ballpark of the following reference we got from them:

“Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera

Please submit intimate Pop Ballads with great lyrics, emotionally moving melodies, and a big, infectious chorus. Please make sure your vocal performance is strong, heartfelt, honest, and believable.

Your production and recording quality needs to be clean, clear, well balanced, and good enough to represent your song well.

We submitted the piano / vocal version, and the SoundCloud link above plays the full mix. But just imagine what it would sound like without the frills, and that's what is now being sent along to a major artist!

~~Matt

Thanks everybody! FYI, Peter, I just put the lyrics on the SoundCloud page. And I just remembered I can embed the SC widget directly into the forums now. Why I occasionally forget that is beyond me......
