Keys To The Hiphop Kingdom
I've kinda been seeing this trend for quite a long while without realizing it; hey, I got a SoundClick account, a YouTube account, maybe I can search my name and have a hit?

Apparently, there's decent money being made for a while, now from slangin' beats, and me not being a hiphop guy, I pretty much ignored it, but now that trap drums and 808 kicks have invaded the country music charts, all bets are off. Is it too late for me to turn my hat around backwards and swear a lot? We'll see.

I jumped on that bandwagon last year and it really wasn't worth it (at least for me). That market is extremely over- saturated, so in order to rise above the noise you have to do a LOT of promotion and marketing. (2 things I don't like doing).mojobone wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:37 amI've kinda been seeing this trend for quite a long while without realizing it; hey, I got a SoundClick account, a TouTube account, maybe I can search my name and have a hit?

There are guys out there making 6 figure income from selling beats, but they've been doing it for several years and have tons of beats available online. They've also developed themselves as a brand. Basically there's little difference between trying to sell yourself as an Artist and trying to established sales as a beat producer.
Personally I'd rather spend my time producing tracks sending them to libraries and have them deal with the marketing and promotion.

I don't know as I agree, cuz country ain't a sound; it's a state of mind.
