Project feedback....TV / FILM Rock Ballad

Post by rockinrob » Sun Apr 14, 2019 10:48 am

Working on a film/tv song for future pitch. Work in progress. Could use some constructive criticism on what direction to take it. I feel there is some substance to it. Thanks...

Hey Rob,

It's a bit tough to throw advice out for something without a listing.. but having said that, I think some bigger dynamics with the instrumentation could help take it to the next level. It has some slight variations, but not enough to take the listener on a journey like it should in my opinion.

Good luck with the song! :)

Hey Rob,

I don't know if a time change would work.. that's something you would have to experiment with.
I do think you could work in some chord changes around you excellent vocal!

You could probably change chords a few times without re-doing the vocal. Maybe even the same chord a few steps up or down might do it.

You do some nice singing in your music, Rob.. like I've said before.. Authentic and heart-felt. This one just needs a little work in the musical background.
Adding bass guitar might help too.

Just suggestions, for what it's worth.

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Thank you sir. I think I will go ahead and develop it. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. I've heard your stuff and it certainly lends the credibility to that. Thanks again
