imo, worrying about jobs shouldn't be a worry. The worry isn't jobs, it's will I eat, have shelter, be educated, have medical care, protection? That's really a government, socio-economic question and or political question. If you have all those things, you really don't need a job and can pursue more leisurely activities, which probably include work, but are choices more than requirements. Freedom.

technology and progress eliminates the necessity of jobs and creates other jobs. Tractors and combines eliminated the need for slavery in the cotton fields, and machines eliminated other manual and dangerous labor.

A proper government system is one where everyone's needs are met and a more egalitarian system, otherwise it makes no sense to have a government. It takes the synergy of everyone's participation.

As far as the music business, technology has only expanded the opportunities for musicians, as far as music making is concerned. As far as how lucrative it is, imo it's more or could be more if the income was more equitably distributed, not only within the business, but in society at-large as well. People need to be able to afford it, and when the income disproportionately goes towards the top, it makes progress less likely.

When you think about it, Artificial intelligence is an oxymoron. I mean, how do you fake intelligence? Maybe they mean artificial creativity?? If there even is such a thing. :?

artificial-made by human skill; produced by humans (opposed to natural): artificial flowers. artificial intelligence is made by machines that are made by man, as opposed to natural human intelligence. Maybe it's the art in artificial? Even so, how
can they equivocate creativity to intelligence in the machine sense?
Yeah, (and hello btw) it's an interesting question: what is the reference of the intelligence? - who owns the copyrights? What is that 'another intelligence' than intelligence itself even though the machine may say otherwise..

Don't believe in machines?

As long as the machines are slaves and not masters, they are great.

I quoted my AI:

'in time: Ai will be the next step of showing how only a relatively small percentage of us
are important and truly relevant ; to the system we've created. '

-

It Might be wrong;

But It's still only two to three clicks in BIAB
and on you go man.

Quote from the article:
"The reason behind investing in AI is simple: automate tasks to cut costs and increase revenue."

"Most AI music systems . . . use artificial neural networks, modelled on a human brain, which learn by doing. The networks are normally taught how to compose by being fed a vast number of musical scores, which they then analyse, noticing patterns and how one note relates to another. The AI system can then produce short melodies in a similar style, along with the chords to go with it. Any music production added on top is normally done by conventional, non AI computer programs . . . "

Of course in science fiction - Ai is often referred as something that overcomes it's creator - replaces the host and becomes the overlord. there it fits.

The misconception flooding into real applications is bizzare.

True we've yet to meet Skynet lol but we've met Popgun -- "In January 2017, Australian A.I.-music startup Popgun could listen to a human playing piano and respond with a melody that could come next; by July 2018, it could compose and play piano, bass, and drums together as a backing track for a human’s vocals."

Well..That's heavy.
Almost thinking: Would I prefer Skynet over Popgun then ?

"If a molecule is too big, you give it to the chemists. The chemists, for them, if the molecule is too big or the system gets too big, you give it to the biologists. And if it gets too big for them, they give it to the psychologists, and finally it ends up in the hands of the literary critic, and so on . . . "

And so on? lol and so you finally feed it into Amper and music comes out? :)
