This review is "a bit much"
The screener shouldn't try to give music history/theory lessons. I don't think supervisors and general audience care about intervals an such .

MEDIEVAL, RENAISSANCE FAIRE-STYLE INSTRUMENTALS are needed by SUNDAY for an EXCLUSIVE A-List Music Library that gets a lot of really good TV, Film, and Commercial placements. They’re looking for Instrumentals in All Tempos and moods
Please send them authentic-sounding Medieval Instrumentals that sound like they belong in a movie or documentary about that era. Use sounds and instrumentation that are common to this time period and style (i.e. lutes, dulcimers, pan flutes, recorders, hurdy-gurdies, harps, etc.). Moods can vary, but you’d be smart to stick to a single emotion and motif throughout your Instrumental. Any material that sounds stiff, synthetic, or obviously MIDI-driven won’t work well for this pitch. In other words, assuming you're going to use Virtual Instruments for many of these sounds, they need to sound VERY authentic. This company's quality bar is super high and they won't use any tracks that even hint at having samples in them.
" I like the harp, but the series of parallel open intervals is a bit much even for this time period. They were definitely e feature but not as much of a constant under the melody as we're seeing here."

Sometimes the person reviewing is actually from the library.
They know what they want..especially when it says.... Super High Bar.
My super 2 cents worth,
Tim

Totally agree with Tim. It could have been the library owner him/herself that did the screening.
Plus, they specified authentic-sounding, and that almost is a dead giveaway that the screener is going to be somewhat of an expert in that particular genre, and will be a bear for details like intervals, instrumentation, phrasing, etc.....
P.S. SoundCloud went straight to your "A Chase" track as I was typing. Nice!!

Re: This review is "a bit much"
Shouldn't the reviewer consider era appropriate theory/history before they forward something as era appropriate?

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate any input.johnnyrowing wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 4:02 pmShouldn't the reviewer consider era appropriate theory/history before they forward something as era appropriate?
We all know more or less how the western civilization's music sounds from the medieval juglars and Gregorian chants to actuallity, but how if "era apptopiate" refers to the Roman empire, the Greeks or Vikings , and so on ?
Then you are free to do anything for lack of music literature.
