Looking for feedback on new WIP

Saw the listing for 'outlaw country' songs, but didn't have enough time to complete anything. I wrote this, took it to my NSAI group and revised it. All feedback is appreciated.

Okay, so I think this one has potential. You mention that you saw a listing, so I assume you want to try and pitch this to film & TV?

To me, it's got a nice Rolling Stone swagger to it, think Exile On Main Street. The lead guitar is great, though you could probably cut 10-20% of it, just to make what's being played even more powerful.

I think you realize this is not broadcast quality? The mix is not very strong - it actually sounds like a live band recorded with one mic. If it's been recorded in a DAW, then I'd try and get some help making a better mix - the backing track seems fine, in terms of what's being played, it just doesn't sound all that good. And to licence this, you'll need a different singer. I mentioned the Stones, so I think you'd want someone who could really sink their teeth into this one. And definitely get some female background singers on the chorus!

Yeah, very cool tune but definitely not broadcast quality at this point. The main electric guitar is the only thing that sounds well enough recorded to my ear. Drums are totally buried. Vocal performance needs to be stronger. Again, killer tune and deserves a more polished production!

Thanks, guys. It was a quick and dirty mix. I knew it wasn't broadcast quality, and (always) need a better vocalist.
