Offered contract but no contact since
Hello all,
Definitely could use some advice with this one.
I recently submitted cold to a library. I got a reply saying they were interested in my tracks and asked if i wanted to see the agreement.
Of course I said yes but since that email exchange (a week ago) they haven't got back to me with the contract.
Now I understand these companies are extremely busy and adding new composers to their roster is probably low on their to-do list.
Also they are a fairly big company in the library music world so I need to be careful not to annoy them haha.
Any thoughts on how to move forward from here is be appreciated

Re: Offered contract but no contact since
If it were me, I’d reach out again. I haven’t been doing this long, but have run in to this a few times already. Each time I waited about a week or so, then emailed them just as a courtesy follow-up type thing... all while being as gracious as possible.
Every time they got back to fairly quickly after that and gave me the needed info, and also apologized about being busy.
It seems that a lot of times the squeeky wheel gets the grease in these scenarios! (Or at least that’s been my experience)
Hope that helps some!
Andrew

They may just be busy on another deadline, I would re-forward their reply and just say you were following up if they have the agreement you can look at.

I've had a similar thing happen recently. I was contacted by a music library who "heard my music via taxi". They didn't specify a listing or a song that they heard.
They asked me to send them streaming links to some more of my work, which I did within a few hours.
The next day they emailed me back to say they are really busy and they'll listen to it sometime soon.
That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard back from them since.

Keep contacting the company until you get a response. Once every 2 or 3 days should work. Phone calls work better than emails too!

I wasn’t being sarcastic.
I contact the library and wait a few days to a week to get a response. If I don’t get one, I contact the company a few more times to get a yes or no.
After a few tries with zero response, I assume that the company is too busy to work with me and then move on.
There is nothing wrong with a little persistence.

Oh....I was being very sarcastic!!!!
Ha!!!... I have never tried to recontact a library if they didn't reply.
If they want your music.....they will contact you.
My 1 cent worth,
Tim

Every 2-3 days would definitely put you in the "annoying" category. I would absolutely advise against this.
After you reach out, give it 2 weeks minimum if you haven't heard back and try again. If no response then, assume they are not interested or "they'll contact you when ready".
BTW, this has been mentioned by library owners on panels at the road rally. They are very busy people and don't like people they consider to be pests.

True, don’t be a pest. But don’t give up either. Squeaky wheel gets the oil.
