Am I on the right track?
I wanted to get opinions before I start writing a lot of tracks for this.. is this right for the listing? Is the build the wrong idea.. should I make it more "in your face" from start to finish? Is it too "anthemic" and slow?
Thank you,
Dan
HIGH-ENERGY ROCK/METAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Library that has just started requesting music from TAXI. It’s a good time to get in on the ground floor and build a relationship with this library!
They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues that could work well in a wide range of Sports shows. Please listen to the references they gave us (below) to get an idea of the stylistic range they're looking for:
Rock / Orchestral - Reference 1
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nc4foqwejbd9d ... d.wav?dl=0
Rock - Reference 2
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz94rizzgmgol ... k.wav?dl=0
Give them edgy, well-composed Rock/Metal Instrumental Cues that are full of attitude and energy. Your submissions should be rhythmically and melodically engaging from start to finish. Utilize anthemic guitar parts and hard-hitting drums to create the high-octane, in-your-face sound they need! Think of what you would hear in sports TV Promos, and you'll likely be on the right track!
TAXI Tip: Incorporating some Orchestral elements in your tracks could earn you some extra bonus points, but that's not a requirement. Pay close attention to Reference #1!
Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Non-Faded, Buttoned/Stinger endings will work best for this request. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the Songs you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit.
Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Friday, July 26th, 2019. TAXI #Y190726RM
Thank you,
Dan

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Re: Am I on the right track?
hey Danny sounds like you're in the ballpark.
Is there any way to put the guitar riffs on "top" of the mix and bring the rest down a smidge?
That's the only mix tweak I would attempt if it were my track.
Best of luck!
Jay

Re: Am I on the right track?
Agree with Jay - guitars a little too far back in the mix.
I'm also working on this listing - and I must say you're track blew me away - much better than mine.

Re: Am I on the right track?
Thanks for the help, David and good luck to you with this listing!
I removed all the volume automation that was keeping the guitars so far back in the mix.

Awesome track!!!
Sorry for the short comment, but your track rocks, man. Everything sounds spot on to me.

Re: Am I on the right track?
Thanks, John! I brought the orchestral parts down more. I hope that brings out the guitars? I appreciate the help!!!

Any chance you could take a listen and provide feedback. Same listing. I've got two nights to potentially make adjustments. Many thanks in advance.
