Co-write Playlist - Thank you, TAXI

Post by funsongs » Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:45 am

Greetings, TAXI-peeps;
While I don't have any placements on my resume'; I remain grateful, even hopeful, for TAXI having been the vehicle for opening up the world of co-writes and collaborations...
something I'd never attempted.
This morning I decided to put this together:

Hey Peter,

Absolutely love what your doing these days! Dang, where do you get your inspiration!

I can see those (Big Band Songs) getting you placements!!

Keep up the great work Peter.. your on the right path and your going to get there!
I really like following your progress, Peter!!!

All my best,

Dan

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Thank you, Professor Matt - your encouragement - and trumpets! - have made a huge contribution;
for that, I am forever grateful. :) ... by now I'm sure I owe you several beers at The Westin Lounge.
See you in November - and be sure to collect. :? :)

Well, thank you for the time, ears, and most-kind compliments.

Inspiration? Honestly, listening - to things people say - often come great titles, one-liners, lyric & story ideas; and/or a great melody that needs its own story...
like I heard in the first few notes of Charles A. Wilson's "Drivin' To Nashville"... it's like I could already see the movie.
Then I just needed to write it down, and learn to play it.

The Big Band lyrics were inspired by fellow TAXI artists' music (Louise Goldberg & Lamar Pecorino). And, I happen to have some very talented composers and players in my neighborhood, who are all on my first-call list.

The big issue, as it relates to getting forwards & placements to TAXI listings is - since I don't have my own studio gear, and don't self-produce 'for free/on my own': I am completely at the mercy of either
WFH or collaborator situations. Most of the success stories I read are of folks - many I've come to know - who can do all their own stuff on computer (including all the stems, etc.).

I don't own a smart phone, I'm not on Facebook or any social media (yet) other than Soundcloud.
That's my Old-Guy story, and I'm stickin' to it.

Cheers.

Pre-Road Rally BUMP... the TAXI collaborations (2 more coming soon!) ... meanwhile, back at the ranch:

Seems every year the word "collaborate" is at least one of the many buzz-words in and around the group conversations, and with Mentors.
