How's the Mac Catalina OS working for you?

Post by guscave » Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:11 am

So far I haven't had any problems using it with my DAW (Studio One), however it stopped recognizing my license for Nexus VST. I'm going to re-download it and see if it doesn't give me any problems.

Good question! I haven't done the upgrade yet because I read that Native Instruments is not yet compatible. I'd be interested to know if anyone is using NI in Catalina with no problems... specifically Albion One.

NI is working good for me on Catalina. No issues yet.

Well, I took the leap and so far everything seems to be working fine (fingers crossed). Any luck on getting Nexus VST to work yet?

Edit: For whomever may be debating the upgrade, my DAW is Logic Pro X, using mostly built-in instruments and effects, plus Spitfire's Albion One in Native Instrument's Kontakt Player.

Seems to work only if I leave the key license open on the dock. Otherwise it doesn't recognize it's in your system.

I realize that the horse has already left the barn, so to speak, but for future reference NEVER upgrade until all your associated vendors have given the official notification of support. This has been true for as long as there have been DAW's. In this case, I got emails from all the major vendors like Avid, NI, SoundToys, UA, etc. saying DO NOT UPGRADE at this time. It's really a good idea to subscribe to your vendors mailing list to receive notifications in spite of the associated spam it unfortunately brings along. Anyway, sorry you are having some difficulties but I'm sure the vendors will come up with updates soon.
