What sample rate does the libraries usually ask for?

Post by YellowStudio » Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:44 am

As the title says I wonder what resolution the most libraries are asking for?
Right now I render my tracks in 44,1khz 16bit and work in 44,1khz 24bit.
It struck me that maybe it would be better to work in 48/24?

As a general rule (libraries may differ) they want 44.1/24

From my experience it is either 48/16 or 48/24. Some ask for WAV others for AIF.
Kind regards

+1 Matt, I believe I stand corrected :D
The last batch I sent out had been asked for 44.1/24 so that was fresh in my mind...

48k 24bit seems most requested from my experience...I did have one that stipulated 16it though once

It varies all over the board according to library. Most typical is either 48K/16 or 44.1K/16, though a few ask for 48K/24.

My recommendation is record at at least 48K/24 and make your first mix down to that. You can easily convert down to the other formats with any of a variety of tools outside your DAW.
