Hi TAXI folks,
Am I achieving these three goals with this mix? Thank you very much for your input!
Dan
- Clear mix without muddiness.
- Emphasizing the percussion without sounding harsh.

Hey Danny,
I gave this a few listens and my main feeling is that the bass and low end doesn't feel solid. The kick drum and the tabla[?] could be phase cancelling? I'm not sure if you are carving a little out of the guitars for the bass too? Warren Huart's Youtube channel is great for info on mixing guitars and bass and low end etc.
There is clarity in the mids and highs but the percussion might be a little too dominant in places.
I don't know? A few tweaks maybe. It's a pretty cool piece.

Hey Les,
I may have been in the process of uploading a new version when you wrote this.
I worked on all the things you're talking about. I would appreciate it if you took a second listen.
Thanks!
Dan

Wow, this is a great track! I grew up in a neighborhood with a Turkish population - I definitely get that Sunday morning vibe (if I subtract the hard rock parts
).
Tom
