I'm not real big into EDM, but the snare choice sounds right for the genre (and it does matter), it just needs some beefing up.

It could be just the volume level in the mix. Try that, or experiment with EQ and compression also. At 0:40 it really sounds more like a tin metal percussion instead of an 808.

Magic bullets: Output Exhale. Mantra Drumkits (pop). Certain things from r/drumkits (mostly for trap).
