Who/What is your Streaming/Distributor choice?
Tuesday "Howdy-do" - to those of you who release and distribute your SONGS, as singles or as a collective sets/albums:
to get your stuff out there on Spotify...
- who do you use, and why?
- what are the costs?
In advance - thank you.

Re: Who/What is your Streaming/Distributor choice?
I am with DistroKid, unlimited uploads for $19.99/year.
Chose it because of the unlimited uploads (though I have not been uploading anything new in a long while), the large number of stores, great Customer Support, and it is pretty quick in sending the music to the stores.
Something to bear in mind: it is a non-exclusive service

I also used Distro because I needed a distributor which have an option to share the revenue between artists, and they have got a really good solution - Automated team payments.

Been with cd baby for a while. Seems like they are pretty good at getting music everywhere and tracking revenue. A little pricey for releasing singles, hopefully they'll fix that soon.

Hey Peter,
I second Distrokid. We've been using them for maybe 2 years now and are very happy with everything. They also keep adding new stores and recently added Tik Tok.
Customer service is great too.

Anelda - thank you for affirming Marco's recommendation. In the TAXI shorthand vernacular, we might just write: +1roguenoisemachine wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 8:56 amHey Peter

Re: Who/What is your Streaming/Distributor choice?
mkay.
I have tried both Distrokid and SongTradr and I much prefer SongTradr.
Yes, I can assign co-writer credits and they take care of the revenue splits.
Yes, I can release to Spotify, iTunes (or what's it called now, Apple Music?), Amazon, TikTok, and tons of others at once.
Yes, I get detailed stats on all my releases.
They also have their own licensing opportunities and an online market place where you can post your tracks for licensing.
Flat rate is $49/year for one recording artist.
I like that there is no "up-selling" where I found Distrokid to be a nickel-and-dimer - various ways to drive up the bill on purpose or by checking the wrong box. No thanks!
Also, while customer service is generally lacking across the board these days, I find the customer support team at SongTradr to be a little more helpful and caring than the team at Distrokid.
Your mileage may vary, tons of people swear by Distrokid but I swear at them.
