Return for "Weird Edit" vs Time Signature ?
This was returned for a "spy" listing Y191019JB. The critique said "... needs more of a dynamic contour and some sort of build as you progress towards the end." OK I get that, but he/she goes on....
"There's also a weird edit at 1:19... not sure what's going on there."
I don't hear it. I checked every stem for clicks, pops and digital noise. I check the MP3 on my system and on my Taxi Page.
At 1:19 there are real bongos doing a lead in to the next section. The tune is in 11/8 .. is the time signature throwing the screener off?

I can't hear anything weird. IMO a very good and natural sounding 'edit point'.jazzstan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:26 pmThis was returned for a "spy" listing Y191019JB. Well I really like the track. About the only thing I'm not thrilled with is your break that ends at 1:19. So I feel pretty sure it has something to do with just rethinking that whole break.
I don't listen to guitar players who listen to guitar players. I listen to guitar players who listen to sax players.

Actually I just listened to it again. You may not have to re-imagine that whole section. Close to the end of it, where you start strumming octaves, the very last octave you strum seems to have a slight echo hanging after it. To me it does sound like an edit that just needs more love. Zoom in and clean up right after the last octave strum. It could be on a send though, so you may have to automate down your aux right after that strum. That all being said, I'm still not big on that whole break. I just like the rest of it way more.

Here's my take...
I do hear it
Coming into that break you just introduced a new voice... the E Guitar
Because it didn't ring out or Reverb tail through 1:19 that spot felt like an editing mistake.
Wonderful piece!
