new song "I wonder"...I wonder if it is too out there

Post by feaker66 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 9:39 am

I grabbed my acoustic and just stared singing. It is all about reflection. This track is rough and I will finish it and start cleaning after I figure out if it is worth persuing? I had to sing this in kind of a whisper because my wife, in the next room, might think I am getting all weird. Just would like to know if there is a place for a song like this?

Hmmm... I'll have to check it out later... since I, too, have a song by that title - which, with a slideshow video, was the focal honor-point for our Mom's Celebration of Life in 2015.
So... I'm interested so hear what it is you are wondering about. :? 8-)
Bach atya later, Paul.
Cheers.

Really very pretty!
If you ever listen to Beck's album "Sea Change" you will hear the same kind of introspection.

Hey Paul - for what it's worth, and if it helps: I like it, and think it's good.
It brings to mind one of my favorite quotes - though I don't know who may have first said it,
"Joy in incomplete until it is expressed." :? :P

Pretty cool if you ask me. And prod wise I like that trem/vibrato at around 1:32ish. Also I’d keep it sparse.
I’d chase it and see where it goes! Best, John

Hey Peter:) Crazy that we made songs with the same title. Glad you like it. I wasn't going to go any further if it didn't sit well with folks. thanks you

Hi John, nice to meet you. I was attempting some fills with my PRS guitar and nothing sounded good with the mainly acoustic dominant tracks. I then tried some vibrato and it just seemed to work. Kept the volume down. I am encouraged that nobody thought it was not likeable. Going to finish it. Thanks for taking the time.

Paul

Hi Feaker66,

I got a Simon and Garfunkel kinda buzz off of this track with...drum roll...a dash of Pink Floyd.

It's definitely worth pursuing/expanding on. Good luck! :)

Nice one!
I wouldn't change too much production wise. Definitely keep a full copy of what you have now just in case any new work just sanitises the life out of it.
That's the voice of experience talking there.
I get the references others have made.
