Wow John! I've been catching up on reading forum posts and you are on FIRE! Congratulations!
Also, thanks for sharing your creative workflow under the "New 20 Song Instrumental Deal" thread. I need to build up some templates and follow your guide so I can sprint like you!

1) take my v memo ideas and lay them down in Logic. I start w a scratch acoustic, whistle the melody w a shaker loop to keep me honest.
2) then I add diff virtual instruments from my template (strings, piano, glockenspiel etc)
3) then add either Logic drummer or EZ drummer or an 808 kit to set the groove.
4) only then do I add bass (hard to do being a bass player).
5) then I move on to the next one
6) after finishing a bunch I listen back to the group of recent cues and make notes in a DIFFERENT environment. I sit in my truck in a different place to listen, not my driveway to put some space between myself and the arrangement/mix.
7) then I go back and make sure mic placement is right , tuning is perfect and start on them as a batch to finish them off.
That seems to be the workflow that works best for me. Hope it helps! Best, John

Hey thanks Akira! I guess the light bulb came on and things are starting to make sense for me. Also it helps to not sleep lol! Starting tuning vocals at 3am for a deadline on a “Covid” style song. Take care! Best, akira wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:02 amWow John! I've been catching up on reading forum posts and you are on FIRE! Congratulations!

Thanks Sam. These were both work for hire vocalists. I think I’ve only signed 2 of mine where I’m the actual lead singer lol! I do throw in a lot of my own BGV’s to add layers & variation, especially the female vocal stuff. Have a good one!
