WAV or MP3

Post by ChrisMatarazzo » Mon Apr 13, 2020 11:48 am

Hey, everyone -- my first forum post. Now that we can upload WAV files, is everyone doing that? We were limited to MP3s at 192kbps before... Just wanted to get a consensus as to what everyone was doing... Anyone think MP3s might still be preferred by clients?

Hey Chris,

Well.... I have been uploading mp3's for the last 14 years.
And still upload only mp3's.

My mp3 cents worth,
Tim

320k MP3 is virtually indistinguishable to most people..and about a 10th of the file size

A .wav file isn't going to magically make a song any better. And from a sonics perspective - as Cosmic mentioned - most people wouldn't be able to distinguish differences between a high-res mp3 vs. a wav file.

After all these years (12 now... Tim has me beat by 2!), I'm still uploading mp3's and don't plan on changing.

Thanks, everyone! I'll stick with the mp3s, then. Good to be able at least to do 320...

I have always use 192kbps I can't tell the difference.

My 192kbps worth,
Tim
