Release form for a friend who plays for free?
If a friend plays for free on a song, is there an appropriate release form for them to sign? I have found work for hire forms, but they assume payment. Thanks!

$0.01 is good

Thank you both. This is helpful. I'll tell my friend not to spend it all in one place!

Basically, any contract that makes anyone play for free will be liable in courts, voluntary or not. He can tell you its fine and sign the deal, and tell a lawyer another story 10 years after and get you in trouble. So imho, this situation is not the greatest. Also if you are in the US, make sure to read up on the new California law on this. I think you or your friend needs to take it a bit more serious to be covered. Maybe check out lawyer Erin Jacobson's website, and see if there is some more info on the current legal situation with this..
