3 for 3 in 3 diff genres (w help from the Forums!)
Hey TAXI Folks,
A certain "Critical" TAXI friendly library that gets killer placements just emailed that they've accepted all of my latest submissions.
Two cool things about this (to me anyway lol)! One- the songs we're all different genres- "modern male singer songwriter", "female pop/Urban-pop advertising" and "male blues rock" that I produced and hired vocalists to sing.
But the coolest thing is the singer songwriter song was one I posted on the the "Peer To Peer" section of the TAXI Forum back when I first wrote it. I got some great feedback from Ethan Okamura, Tom Hoy, Tom McCormack, Peter Rahill and I think Dan Weber. If I forgot anyone I'm sorry. All of those TAXI members offered suggestions that I seriously considered. Thanks to all of you for helping me out!
here's a link to the S-songwriter song.

You forgot:
"Fortunately, after seriously considering their suggestions - I opted to leave it alone; which worked out best...
cause that's the track that got placed. You guys helped a ton by making the mistakes for me.
It's been said 'you learn from your mistakes.'... but a wiser man said, '...but learning from THE OTHER GUYS' mistake hurts way less!"
Good report, John.

Go your own way! Out of necessity, drive, gumption, whatever.. don't let anyone tell you you can't!
It's not what goes into your music that's important, it's what comes out the speakers

Lol Peter! Seriously I took a bunch of the advice offered and ran “with it” not “from it”!funsongs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 5:23 pmYou forgot:

Off the top my head- “ make it less wordy”, “shorten the bridge” “cut down on the guitar string squeak” Etc. you guys helped a lot!

Congrats John! That is a big win to get 3 accepted at once, especially from that " certain " library I'm grateful that my name is among those who helped you in putting the song together. " A Boy Can Dream" has got that free spirit feeling like Johnny Orland's song " See You ". Very nice. Keep up the great work!
