I need some opinions on what is the best bang for the buck on strings and orchestral sound library. I have talked to some pretty great engineers and musicians who have spent over 700 for a library that say it still sounds fake. I am better off just using my Nord stage three sounds and my logic pro strings? What is the best orchestral sounds under $900 or so ? And will they sound fake?

Spitfire audio has some great free sample libraries ...their Labs features a lot of instruments and they have a free version of the BBC orchestra. Both are really well done and for FREE their priceless.

Yes, they will all sound fake out of the box. You have to make them work, and it can be done. It could be a good thing to double strings with your Nord.

Kolstad hit the nail on the head, you can make an expensive library sound pretty fake if you don't use it correctly.
