Contemporary Funk !
Here's Downtown Funk :
Obviously (but I hope not too much) inspired by Uptown Funk...
CONTEMPORARY FUNK-Inspired INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a NON-Exclusive Music Licensing Company that specializes in music for content creators as well as TV shows and Film projects!
NOTE: We recently ran this request as a TAXI Dispatch Listing (#D200424FK), but the company wants to hear MORE material! If you submitted to listing #D200424FK, please send different material this time around.
They’re on the hunt for Mid-To-Up-Tempo Instrumentals in the general stylistic range of the references below:
“Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
"Do It" by Tuxedo
“Slide” by Calvin Harris ft. Frank Ocean & Migos
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.
Please submit fresh, well-crafted Instrumentals with top-notch productions. Your submissions should sound modern, and rhythmically and melodically engaging, as well. Be sure to have catchy hooks and ear candy sprinkled throughout!
Your instrumentation can vary, but should be current and in the general wheelhouse of the references mentioned above. Instrumentals that have awesomely funky bass lines could help you grab this Music Library’s attention!
NOTE: They are NOT looking for vintage material! They need newer Instrumentals that have a retro Funk feel that would fit seamlessly on a playlist with the references listed above.
Your submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-Faded endings will work best for this request. Do NOT copy the referenced acts or Songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This Company offers both EXCLUSIVE and NON-EXCLUSIVE deals. The specific deal points will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you’re inclined to sign an Exclusive deal, please don’t submit material that’s already signed with other libraries or publishers for this pitch. You must own or control your Master and Composition to submit to this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, July 6th, 2020. TAXI # S200706FU

It sounds great but golly, this is what I imagine would be described as a "knock off".
It does sound cool though.

Hi Matheiu...sounds kool! Very similar to ‘Uptown Funk’ ...uses the same sounds and instrumentation...-but still has its own thing happening

This is awesome. Your sounds are incredible. Do you mind sharing which libraries you are using here?
The only reason this would not be forwarded is that it sounds WAY TOO SIMILAR to the reference track. They are asking for tracks in the same wheelhouse, but this seems like a clone.

Re: Contemporary Funk !
Playing and arrangement wise I think it's well done but some of the sounds come across dated, I know it's throwback kinda tune but they come over a bit midi...like one of those karaoke versions of the reference track.
It's the production, I think the drums and bass especially are letting it down. That aside I don't think you can use this as it's much too close to the original , nobody is going to risk being sued and you need to come up with something more original and maybe treat this as a learning exercise .
