Dear Passengers,

We had a blast on last week’s show when the live audience got to test their A&R skills on Country songs. We were all amazed by the quality of some of the songs, and the audience did a great job of picking what worked and what didn’t.

This week, we’re going to challenge the live viewers’ A&R skills again, but this time with Instrumental Cues. Want to test your A&R skills, and learn how to create Instrumental Cues that are worthy of being sent to publishers and ultimately landing in TV shows?

Great, join us on Monday, and have some fun while you’re developing your A&R chops!

Here's the request we got from the Music Library!

TAXI #S200907BL

Lots of MODERN STOMP-CLAP BLUES ROCK INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a new Music Library started by a successful Editor for Major TV shows that LOVES the music they've been getting from TAXI Members!

Because this is a new company, they're essentially building their full stash of Mid-To-Up-Tempo Instrumentals (and/or Cues) in the general wheelhouse of the references below:

“Howlin’ for You” by The Black Keys

“River” by Bishop Briggs

“The Well” by Marcus King

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals (and/or Cues) only for this pitch.

Send them contemporary-sounding Instrumentals and/or Cues infused with lots of Bluesy Rock flavor. Be sure your submissions use standard Rock-band instrumentation. If you're planning on using Virtual Instruments or samples, we'd suggest adding some real, organic instruments (drums, guitars, etc.) to the mix to add that authenticity factor that's needed for these kinds of Instrumentals. Killer melodies, great guitar riffs, and a solid rhythm section are all elements that will make your Instrumentals appealing to this Music Library. You’d be wise to avoid guitar solos (especially in the higher registers) as they tend to be distracting or overpowering when placed under dialogue.

TAXI Tip: Pay close attention to the drum parts and rhythm sections in the referenced tracks. We think that capturing that authentic "stomp-clap" feeling they have in common could really help you stand out for this pitch.

All submissions should be about 2 to 4 minutes long for Instrumentals and roughly 90 seconds to 2 minutes for Cues, give or take. Non-Faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed.

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. This is a gratis library where the artist and publisher are paid through PROs only – Not unusual...actually, very common these days, especially for Reality TV Shows. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit as many Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, September 7th, 2020. TAXI # S200907BL
