Really nice track! Maybe the keys are a little too forward in mix, as said before. And adding a triangle or shaker or pandeiro would could add later in the tune. Very nice!

Thank you all very much!

Good point about the Rhodes not being the lead in any of the references, I totally didn't realize that. Unfortunately, I already submitted it but I'll keep that in mind for the next one. Acoustic piano as the lead sounds like a good idea. Same for triangle to distinguish the sections. Next time for sure. :)

Hey, I love the track sounds authentic to the Latin vibe, and I love the Gibson sound which I believe it might be?
Super good.
Karen
Karen, thanks a ton! Nope, not a Gibson, it's my classical nylon-string. :)

I think the track is excellent, except for the Rhodes lead. It is pretty forward in the mix, and I didn't hear Rhodes in any of the references. Replace that with an acoustic piano and I think you've got a winner!
Paul, you were spot on! The track got returned with the screener saying the Rhodes lead sound inauthentic and I should replace it with a more authentic instrument. They suggested guitar but I'm going to try piano first, as you suggested. Thanks again for your input. :)

Hi Michal,

I am just curious why not a guitar lead?
Andre, I made a similar bossa nova track a few months ago where guitar played the lead, so I wanted this one to be a little different. That's why I went for the Rhodes lead in the first place. The truth is though, the one with the guitar lead was a forward with a great feedback from the screener, so maybe I shouldn't change a winning strategy haha. Anyway, I'll try the piano and post it here. If it doesn't work, I'll record the guitar.

So, here's version 2 with a piano lead. Do you guys like it better than the original one?
