Hey John, I'll take a bite.
I think these are overall pretty good-- but there are a few things that sound to me like possible reasons for a return.
"Take Flight". The arpeggiated bass part in the intro is decent I think, but that particular patch isn't doing it for me. It's a bit cheesy, but not cheesy enough to be kitschy I guess. Sounds too "in the box". Also the music has a lot of dramatic minor chords too-- which don't really sound fun or cheerful or whatever-- though it does sound 80's. I like the guitar part-- that's right on target I think. There are some nice layers to the keys. I think maybe the screener wanted to hear more build toward the end-- started to get a bit static and programmed sounding.
"Sax in the 80's". I think this one is great-- my favorite. It was giving me Hall and Oates vibes. Very nice. But I did hear one problem that slipped through. The kick drum is off time at around :07 seconds. Make sure you quantize. Good melodies on this one.
"Extreme Team" Good 80's sound. I thought the lead line was kinda repetitive from about :30 to :40 in a way that stuck out to me. The timing of the keyboard phrase at 1:22 sounded a bit off. Overall this one sounded like it was pretty on-target. Maybe it needed a little more variation and build toward the end.
Good effort--probably not far from the bar on these. Keep at it.
