Hi Merry,
Exactly what I did when I was trying to hook up my ZOOMHn1 to my DAW and didn't have the proper cables and jack, I was getting distortion

You are using a Headphone jack, try one with one sleeve for mono TS

Not saying this is the ticket but it was for me

Thanks, Dolphin. I know it can't be wonderful with my 58, but it sounds SO much better than it did... I'll post a link when I get the recording edited. I appreciate the link! :)
Well that's something at least. Good luck with it.

Actually, I have the interface connected with the USB cable similar to this: Image. I really would like to get a ZOOM! :)

I wore myself out recording today. :) I still don't know if I have any takes I can cobble together into a useable track, but I am going to try again in a little bit. Then listen to everything through the monitors and see what it sounds like.

Thanks again for all the responses and ideas!
Merry

I posted already in Peer to Peer, but I'm adding in the link here for those of you who have been kind enough to help me! I appreciate your help!

Hi Merry,
I want to follow up on the advice in Peer to Peer ...
This may not be helpful for the listing you have mentioned but it may be something that could help make your recording life easier ...
My suggestion is that you look into the MXL 990 Condenser microphone which you can get on Amazon for $75 ... great for recording as well as live sound reinforcement ...
It is shocking how easy it is to use ... not to mention how good it can sound ...

I have found that screaming in frustration can be great fun if there is a large field or a hill you can stand on ... early in the morning is best !

Personally I'd invest more in a high quality studio mic especially if you only intend to just have one as they can last a lifetime and don't become obsolete/outdated like some other studio gear can.

Thank you both! I'm saving up for better gear! I may not run outside and scream in the meadow, but at least I know it's there. :D

And, in case you missed it, I did get a forward on the piece, so all the hard work paid off! :)
