Is this okay?

Post by ronnie35 » Thu Apr 22, 2021 3:42 pm

Lots of CHILLHOP INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a Music Licensing Company that specializes in music for content creators as well as TV shows and Film projects!

This Company is searching for Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumentals that could be found on a playlist with the following references:

"Dizzy Blue" by Clap Cotton & Loop Schrauber

"North Fell" by Delayde

"Between Spaces" by blnkspc_

Please submit top-notch Chillhop Instrumentals with an overall laidback vibe and sound. Your submissions should have relaxed beats, vibey guitars and/or synths, and tranquil motifs. Your production should be competitive with the references and feature cutting-edge virtual instruments and samples. This Company is looking for the type of music high-schoolers and college students might listen to while they're studying or chilling out after a rough day of watching TikToks ;-)

NOTE: Do NOT submit any tracks with spoken producer tags/watermarks as they're not usable for film and TV placements.

Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length and no longer than 4 minutes. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this request. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This Company offers both EXCLUSIVE and NON-EXCLUSIVE deals. The specific deal points will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If you’re inclined to sign an Exclusive deal, please don’t submit material that’s already signed with other libraries or publishers for this pitch. You must own or control your Master and Composition to submit to this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, May 10th, 2021. TAXI # S210510CH my piece is called In Your Zone at http://www.soundcloud.com/777rd This ids my first time withs style of music so please critique the hell out of it THANKS Ron

Hi Ron,
The beat is too busy, you need to scale it down a little and then bring in subtle percussive sounds if you want to add some to spice it up a bit. Too many chord changes as in CHIL Hop anywhere from 2 chords to 3 is acceptable maybe a 4th one but that is pushing it some times. Repeat the same chord structure and add simple lines not too many notes here and there, it is usually used for background media projects or listen to at a low level when studying so it can't be distracting.

good luck

- It seems all the low-end frequencies are on the right side... center them more, or take some to the left completely.
- Way too busy in the hats
- Basedrum patterns make it feel messy and putting you on the wrong feet all the time
- all melody instruments seem to dreamy/environmental/ethereal, it could use a bit of "snappy" melody somewhere.
