ears for newbie on "heartfelt singer/songwriter" first submission
Hello all! First post, brand new to TAXI, hoping to get some ears on the first submission. This is for the "heartfelt singer songwriter" opportunity - basically post-pandemic love/light/family/renewal/rising from the ashes/hugging each other again etc. This tune is more Americana than singer/songwriter, and I wrote it pre-pandemic, more about a family in love, so wondering if it seems a good fit. Thanks in advance, looking forward to checking out what others are doing and hopefully making some collaborations!

This is killer! I love this but not sure it's heartfelt singer/songwriter. Hard to say without seeing the whole listing but to my ear this is New Orleans/Americana. Regardless, great stuff, sounds pro to me.

Thanks, man! Yeah, that was definitely my worry - that I was shoehorning a tune that doesn't quite fit - but I was hoping the acoustic instruments and family love theme might be enough to get me a second look. We'll see. I'm making more stuff custom to listings now, so fingers crossed. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, what Eeoo said. Really good but more Kid Creole and the Coconuts than Singer Songwriter.
Good up vibe song though. Great playing/production.

Wow! What a great song! I could see this used in advertising and certain reality shows. You really have the production down pat and I love the lyrics going on " whirl and twirl like a cinnamon bun" Great stuff

Thanks for the feedback feaker66 and Tom! Feaker66, I can def fall into the "too much going on" trap at times. A tell-tale sign is struggling to mix that section (which I did a bit). K.I.S.S. is always good advice

I think that the vocal production is great, combined with overall great production. Great song! When I saw "heartfelt singer/songwriter" I expected to hear something like Elliot Smith, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, etc so I wouldn't put this song in that category.
