Mix Feedback? NewWave SynthPop AltPop

Post by NateFitch » Sat Jun 19, 2021 9:42 am

Working on finishing this up after getting great feedback from listing submissions...
Needing outside ears to listen and offer thoughts.

Questions:
1) How's the mix?
2) What genre would you consider this?

I think the mix sounds fine.
I'd say its 80's synth pop because of the dated synth sounds, but the lyrics and song style are maybe more middle of the road. On the latter point, I can't help but notice quite a few well-worn lyrical cliches, and the phrasing is a little uncomfortable in places. It might work for a retro listing though.

Hi Nate!

Very cool song! sounds well produced and mixed. to me sounds totally indie rock/pop. this song reminds me of this english band called The Kooks.
i think the only adjustment in the mix would be to stick out the main voice a little bit more. kind of like "in your face". specially in the verses.
but other than that i think you have a cool song. Did you mixed it having a reference track?

Juan
