Gritty Rock Blues

Post by Anders » Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:19 am

Hi,

This one is not for a Taxi listing but I’m putting together a collection of gritty blues rock tracks that I plan to pitch to a library that I was introduced to via a taxi forward.
I’m very interested in whether you think it’s load enough? ...or does it sound ”squashed”?
Of course any other comments on the mix or on track itself are also very welcome :)

Thanks!

Hey Anders -- this piece is really catchy and fun. I like the melody and drive and I dig the delays, well done! If anything, I'd like to hear it with the guitar with the auto-wah and delay panned center rather than to the right -- I really like that tone. Good luck with it!

Cool track man! Great guitar tones. Two things I hear:
  • Can't hear much of the the kick through most of the song.
  • The lead guitar from about :34-1:04 could benefit from being brought forward a bit.
Hope that helps!

Thank you DK, I really appreciate it!
...interesting, I actually have a doubled guitar that has no wah effect on the other to side for balance but I guess it gets a little buried. Maybe I’ll try to just center the Wah instead.

Thanks for noticing. You're right, think I need to eq that kick away from the bass somehow.

btw I visited your website, great music there!

Clicked on the link and it said "track removed". Guess you removed it while you're working on it?

Hi irthlingz!

Sorry about the broken link there.
Yes, I tried some final eq -tweaks also slightly raised the volume but to be honest in the end I don’t hear much difference myself.
I put it back again.
