Misheard Song Lyrics

Post by Patrick » Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:06 pm

My French wife told me a funny one tonight.

She said when she was young, she heard Bonnie Tyler's song "It's a Heartache" and thought to herself...

'Why is this woman singing about a hard egg?

Another gem...

A Radio DJ from my city related a story on air that a guy phoned the station and requested "I Was Barney Rubble" by Tom Petty.

The caller of course meant "I Was Born a Rebel"

Do any of you have a funny misheard lyric story?
Bad art can make you laugh
Good art can make you think
Great art can destroy you

- Me

(Did he just quote himself?? Yes! Yes I did!)

I thought Coldplay’s “Sugar” was “Shaw Nuff” for a while…

I used to think for a while that Rihanna's song "Umbrella" had the lyrics "Under my arm forever" when it first came out in 2008. Then I realized about a month later that the lyric actually was "Under my umbrella." Suddenly the lyrics mentioning rain made much better sense.

Go figure...!
