You're in the A&R Hot Seat on Monday's TAXI TV!

7pm Eastern (EST) / 6pm Central (CST) / 4pm Pacific (PST) 12am London (GMT) / 11am Sydney (AEDT)

Dear Songwriters, Composers, and Artists,

Our viewers love to tune up their ears by hearing submissions for a hot request from TAXI, then casting their votes to see if they line up with what our A&R team decided.

One of our regular viewers summed it up nicely when she emailed, "Judging songs on TAXI TV helps me judge my own music more objectively. I create better music because of these episodes, please do more of them!"

We couldn't agree more, so join us for some fun, education, and community spirit in the live chat during this week's episode of TAXI TV!

The songs we'll review were submitted in response to this TAXI Listing from last month!

UPLIFTING SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an A-List Film/TV Music Publishing Company that typically gets really nice, HIGH-END placements! These guys are thought of as being "a cut above."

This Company is looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Missing Piece" by Vance Joy

"Bridges" by Johnnyswim

"Home" by Phillip Phillips

"This Is Our Time" by WILD

Quoting the Company: "We're looking for Songs with uplifting, non-romantic lyrics. Anything about friendship, being there for each other, overcoming challenges, being confident, having gratitude, being joyful, etc."

Please send top-notch Singer/Songwriter Songs with great melodies, super memorable choruses, engaging rhythms, and well-crafted, emotionally upbeat lyrics. Instrumentation that's generally similar to the references will suit your submissions well. If you plan on using any virtual instruments or samples, they should be high-quality and fresh. Polished production and expressive, well-performed vocals are musts for this pitch, as well!

NOTE: This Company doesn't want to hear Songs that sound like typical library music. They're interested in finding stuff that sounds like commercial, releasable Songs ready for the radio. If you're an artist or band with an online presence, even better!

Avoiding specific names, places, dates, times, brands, and profanity are recommended. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Monday, November 15th, 2021. TAXI # S211115TF

...and though I was quiet, was 8 for 11 - woulda been 9 for 11 if I hadn't changed first-impression (due to chat room persuasion);
BUT: wish I could've posted this comment:
"The Forums & Peer-To-Peer is the most valuable-yet-wasted "free" resource TAXI offers.
If those who got returns had posted their work BEFORE submitting to the LISTING SPECS...
they probably could've saved the $5 - because likely would have gotten similar feedback and reviews
FROM THEIR PEERS."

(I wouldn't mind having $5 for every return that failed to utilize the P2P board...)

Just sayin'...
Great episode; HUGE CONGRATS to the writers who were on-target, with some some great songs.
2 standouts, for what it's worth "Comin' Home" and "Feels So Good" - I'd say "SIGN THEM!" :? :P

Well done.
Back to The Peanut Gallery for me... :? :P

Peter, can't you get YouTube on your computer or a laptop or tablet or something? We miss seeing your cheery posts in the chat!

Not without establishing a new YouTube account - which I'm not going to do.
But, thanks for asking; and the kind words.

Yeah, as I think it was Peter who said this in similar episodes.... I am an A&R genius for other people's songs, but for my own music I have no idea!

Any hoo...

Michael gave us some homework for next Monday's episode so I've put a post in the Collaboration section of the forums (with a 's') in case someone is interested. Cheers, Tony.

Hmmm... doesn't sound like something I would either think or say.
But - there may be folks who've gotten lots of returns who might agree with such a statement.

And - I agree that The Collaboration Corner (board) is a greatly under-used/missed-opportunity...
and maybe simply placing it closer to the TOP of these boards could help - if it's not to late to edit the structure and layout.

Maybe a TAXI TV episode could be devoted to SUCCESS STORIES of songs or instrumental cues that we the direct result of a COLLABORATION.
