Any luck treating Tinnitus?

Post by Paulie » Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:47 pm

Has anyone here experienced any luck with any form of treatment for tinnitus? Mine has worsened over the past couple of years and it's becoming maddening at times. I made this video and got as close as I could to what I'm experiencing. It varies quite a bit, this is the general 24x7 sound in my head. I have not heard silence since my childhood.

The first step, imo, would be a visit to an audiologist as tinnitus is a sign of hearing loss. (My partner had tinnitus and it was resolved with hearing aids)

A good resource might be

I would also recommend staying away from earbuds and headphones until you are assessed by a professional.

I've had significant hearing loss in my right ear since childhood due to repeated serious sinus infections thanks to two parents that smoked constantly. I've seen audiologists before, I have the graphs of my crappy hearing. The tinnitus exists separate from my hearing loss.
