JAZZ-FOLK Chantaeuse seeking hip-hop-R&B partner

Post by AsburyParkAngel » Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:49 pm

HI Taxi friends. Back to square one"(
After years of searching for a new producer I connected with a gifted Gospel R& B producer-keyboardist-Pianist from the Atlanta GA area on SOUNDBETTER.com. He did two instrumental tracks. He didn't respond to my emails and my rd payment of $125 for my 3rd song. i was able to track him don to his church & his deacon gave my message to him.

So his story is he got full-time job and no Time to do music!!!
I was heart-broken, (was just jubilant to start recording my third Praise and worship album.)

So here I m seeking a songwriting partner and/or producer.

I compose on my Taylor acoustic and use unconventional, unique and interesting chords. I could exchange vocal arrangements and/or do Producer credits for "re-worked" songs. I have gotten compliments about my interesting melodies & excellent musicianship, but the problem is always "not current" sounding. All my players on my projects have been "older" guys, so i need younger, musicians who record and track current sounds.

Thanks for listening and here is my SOUNCLOUD.

Thanks for listening & I look forward to creating interesting and wonderful music1

Listening to this track right now. It's tagged "Country", but really sounds more like Funk to me. No expert, though.
Tom
+1 (agreeing - Funk/R&B) But, the Subject line does announce what you're seeking.
Good luck on your search to make it RING. :)

Thanks for responding, Tom. I'm a multi-genred artists, composing on an acoustic Taylor. I do NOT play keyboards or have any recording equipment-studio. I wish to create music that is soulful, has a groove and is current sounding for TAXI and Music X9Ray I'm a worship leader, but I wish to re work older worship and pop songs with more groove. It seems piano and keyboard songs are more in style and polished. Old school folk isn't in style any more.

A preacher-rapper friend of mine re worked some of my folky tunes and gave them a very cool, hip-hop and R&B vibe. but that was 20 years ago and now the songs are out of style. I've been impeded by a serious neurological condition, so moving forward has been VERY distressing and challenging!

2 pennies more:
If your goal is to make your songs/music/pitches sound 'younger' - i.e. material that sounds current and able to fit into the listing reference tracks
(assuming most of those will be for current-sounding stuff) - does that necessarily mean that you can ONLY work YOUNG producers?
Seems that would limit your options, when there are PLENTY of 'seasoned' arrangers and producers who can create modern-sounding tracks.

Again - good luck on your quest to find THAT partnership.
You may succeed more quickly if you stay open to whomever can fill that need,
rather than narrowing it to "Kids Only Need Apply".
:? :P

Would you like to work with me?

Darlin...you have NO idea what it's like to "BUST yer humps LOL, for FIFTEEN years delivering telephone books in the back of a Ford peck-up WHILE battling Lyme disease. producing SEVEN original projects and 2 covers and not make anything with my gift! I never said anything about "only working with young guys, I said, "current" sounding production which can be done by any one . I am REALLY burned our from battling a 14 year battle with TMJ Dystonia and I just do not have the energy to again waste more money, time and energy. I don't expect anyone here to give me compassion but it is very difficult to pursue music AND live with a debilitating AND disabling condition:).

If you have some strong music that needs vocals and lyrics I'd be happy to collab with you :)

Oh, the lovely and talented "older engineer I've worked with for many years and is a sweetheart, (about 68)
though extremely talented, TAXI has NOT FWD them ( about 40 songs) because they are NOT current sounding. That money and rejections add up ya know LOL!

send me some stuff and let's see what we can create! hugs

If your questions were for me - politely & respectfully: I don't care for much of the new trends in music.
But just because I prefer the more 'classic/oldie' material for myself doesn't mean there's not a suitable match for you and others who could work well together,
and enjoy creating and producing those projects. My comments were meant to encourage you in your search with TAXI peeps who do exactly what you're looking for.
Do what you like. Have fun. Do well. :? :P Sincerely.
Cheers!
