Just joined Taxi and had my first feedback this morning on hybrid orchestral trailer cue. The cue got returned and I accept that. Tbh, this deadline was so close that I just returned my older cue which I felt was closest to the brief.
But the reason for the rejection was according to the screener that "we're missing from the brief is a heavy emphasis on orchestral instrumentation which was discussed heavily in the brief".
The brief said the cue can be orchestral or orchestral hybrid. My cue was orchestral hybrid and in that genre it's many times mostly synth. Even in the references (for example "The Phoenix Rises") you can harly hear any orchestral instruments under the synths if there even are any. And in my cue you can clearly hear the orchestra with the synths.
Also in the "additional things I noticed..." it seems I did not do anything right, even the song length was wrong according to the screener even though it was within 2-3 minutes as requested in the brief.
So I find it hard to understand the feedback. Is the feedback accurate and Im just completely misinterpreted the brief (even the cue length)? Please help me here since I want to learn about this.

Re: Help me understand feedback on orchestral instrumental trailer cue
I was contacted by the head screener and I totally misinterpreted the feedback. Didn't realize the "Additional things I noticed" has checkboxes. I interpreted every point as feedback which of course didn't make any sense to me, since those weren't the feedback. He also answered my question very well and I see now how to improve the composition to better match the criteria.
