Americana Rock Instrumental Cues 2 & 3

Post by DouglasKnight » Fri Jun 17, 2022 4:22 am

Hi friends!

Thought I'd share the pieces I've been working on this week for the listing below:

Cruising Down To Cali: https://www.taxi.com/members/Gjdf7sdFR5 ... wn-to-cali

Truckin' Along: https://www.taxi.com/members/Gjdf7sdFR5 ... ckin-along

Anyone else submitting for this listing?

Cheers,
Doug

------------------------------------

AMERICANA ROCK INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Top-Notch British Music Licensing Company with lots of great placements in Film and TV.

This Company is searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals (or Cues) that could found on a playlist with the following references we got directly from them:

"Traveling North" by Dennis Godshalk https://youtu.be/zvjsIvRc1Sg

"So Far So Good" by Dennis Godshalk https://youtu.be/jDwlBwOeU-E

"Can't Let Go" by Lucinda Williams

"Guitar Town" by Steve Earle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AINUPFbFpqg

Although some of the references have Vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this request.

Please submit well-produced Americana Rock Instrumentals (or Cues) with engaging motifs, solid grooves, polished production, and solid arrangements that could work well for various TV and Film placements. Instrumentation in the general style of the references will suit your submissions best – think acoustic guitars, drums, etc. Organic, live-recorded performances will likely work best for this request, but if you plan to use any virtual sounds or instruments, please be sure they are high-quality and indistinguishable from the real thing. Nothing dated or overly MIDI-driven will work for this request. We recommend crafting your pieces around a singular motif and mood, and creating a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress.

Your submissions should be roughly 90 Seconds long for Cues, and about 2 to 4 minutes long for Instrumentals, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hey Douglas, cool track! The one thing that strikes me compared to the references is that maybe your ending could have some more finality? Now don't take me too seriously cuz I'm no pro, but the two references seem a bit more resolved than yours does, yours seems to have a little less satisfaction in the ending

Maybe that's not too much of a requirement for this listing? I like the feel of yours, just seems a little "hanging" to me... maybe it's those toms in the one example that helps bring home that ending

Hey, Jonathan -- thanks for listening and commenting! I totally agree and will go back and put in a bigger ending with the drums. Great idea, and thanks again....Doug
