Small Things Considered ©2022 Robert George BMI
I walk noisy city streets
Where the sky, is hidden by graffiti towers
And yet in the sidewalk cracks
I can see, the mystery of mighty flowers
Sometimes it seems as if
Faith is something my heart can’t afford
But when I feel bitter,
It’s small things considered
That help me see the Lord
It’s a lonely bus ride home
Past the slums, where doubt becomes the one religion
Out there on my fire escape
Heaven sings, in moonlit wings of fledgling pigeons
Sometimes it seems as if
Faith is something my life can’t afford
But when I feel bitter,
It’s small things considered
Small things considered
That help me hear the Lord
Our spirit never knows
When heaven will reveal it
Somewhere in a winter rose
Our starving hearts will feel it
Sometimes it seems as if
Faith is something my dreams can’t afford
But when I feel bitter,
It’s small things considered
Small things considered
That help me see the Lord
O small things considered
Small things considered
Help me feel my Lord…
