Hi All. Hope you're doing well.
What exactly does it mean when the TAXI request says "please submit Trailer-style Instrumentals only" - but it needs to be about two and a half minutes long? I'm interested to understand if there are some important aspects of a trailer-style instrumental that I am unaware of. Can anyone offer some guidelines?
Kind regards
James

Re: Trailer Style Instrumental
There are some great YouTube videos out there on how to do this. Wait... I just checked, and all of Nick Murray's outstanding trailer tutorials are no longer available. Boo...

Re: Trailer Style Instrumental
Lots of great resources to study trailer music.
Check out the YouTube channel Paulie mentioned.
Additionally look up “Trailer Music Weekly” on YouTube, they’re constantly posting trailer music that is landing trailers. Study those tracks and analyze them.
Study the form and structure, the arrangements, the evolution of dynamics, mood, energy, etc.
Another great resource would be anything Richard Schrieber puts out (Trailer Music Composer’s Podcast, lots of YouTube videos, etc).
Loads of other resources but no sense in overwhelming you, those are all great starting points. Dig in and get to work
