Newbie Needing Start Up Gear

Post by WayneEdwardRoworth » Sun Aug 21, 2022 1:09 pm

Hello all. First let me clarify a few things. I'm an accomplished musician, (legend in my own mind!), in no way an engineer, and am looking for recommendations on today's available hardware/software combo that can give a singer/songwriter a product acceptable for Taxi forwarding. Guitars and keyboards are my thing. Plug ins are pretty much an unknown to me. If it's possible I would prefer a mobile set up due to travel. I don't have deep pockets so that could be a limiting factor. I do find navigating through tracks with your finger instead of a mouse is limited with what I currently use. Latency is also a factor. Thank you in advance for your recommendations. Wayne.

Hi Wayne! I would recommend getting an Apple Macbook Pro and running Logic Pro. You can get a good small interface, external hard drive, a mini keyboard, one good condenser mic, a nice set of headphones, and a small set of decent monitors and be ready to produce in most styles. I would recommend calling Sweetwater, letting them know your needs and budget, and one of their sales engineers will get you everything you need. Hope that helps, and good luck! Doug

Hey Graham. Thanks for the reply. While searching I came upon this a few days ago. Great advice and I'm using this info to get me going. Wayne.
