Feedback for rhythmic trailer

Post by AlonMarcus » Fri Sep 02, 2022 9:53 pm

Hi guys, I'm looking for feedback for this one:
https://www.taxi.com/members/gfqbyjgMTo ... irculation

Lots of RHYTHMIC THRILLER TRAILER-Style INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an awesome, EXCLUSIVE Production Music Library, started by very successful industry veterans who are building a brand new catalogue from the ground up!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This company pays (up to) $300 per track, upfront! You keep 100% of the writer's share. They buy your master and publisher's share. This new Company is BRAND NEW to requesting music from TAXI. This is a tremendous opportunity to get in on the ground floor and create an ongoing relationship for your music with a great new company that's almost certain to become a major player!

This Library is looking for spine-tingling Instrumentals in the general wheelhouse of the following references:

The Cursed Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7PoQAeIqVo

Smile Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcDK7lkzzsU

The Unholy Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wohncvqwQuE

Although one of the references has some lyrical vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this request. Including some non-lyrical vocals is okay for this request.

Quoting the Company: "We are looking for really high-quality trailer instrumentals written with non-traditional instruments in a rhythmic way. We'd love to find some composers able to create this style of trailer music."

Please submit well-produced Thriller Trailer-style Instrumentals that will have listeners on the edge of their seats! Your submissions should have solid, thrilling arrangements, cutting edge virtual sounds and samples, polished production, and a 3 "act" trailer structure that builds in momentum, dynamics, and intensity to a climactic ending. Your arrangements should principally feature Sound Design instrumentation (in the general style of the references) to create a suspenseful and rhythmic vibe, but can include some additional elements, as well. We recommend utilizing non-traditional instruments to create a rhythmic and pulsing feel to help get your pieces closer to what this Library is searching for.

TAXI Tip: Don't be afraid to layer up your instrumentation and sound design elements to get that epic, blockbuster sound and feel! Build, build, and keep on building!

Submissions should be about 90 seconds to 3 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, Stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, with an (up to) $300 upfront fee. You’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share and they’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share. Since this is an Exclusive deal, the material you submit for this request CANNOT be signed with other publishers, catalogs (no re-titles), or monetized/published, or have a publishing admin deal with any other companies such as, CDBaby, TuneCore, etc. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022. TAXI # S220907TT

Hi Alon,

It needs to be more "eerie" to be similar to the reference tracks. You could also re-work the track and create more "starts and stops" or edit points which seem to be dominant in the reference tracks. I love the funky slapping sound ostinato in Act III, but its character seems to veer from the more traditional "God, Devil, Religion" themes which are contained in all 3 of the references.

In my opinion, your track's overall character could be re-worked to better match the references.

I sincerely hope what I've said can be of value to you.

Best!

John Dale
