Country Instro Feedback Request
Hey everyone!
So I had previously asked about this track of mine what genre it was. I was surprised to hear people consider it country, and a return submission actually described it as pop country! LOL, good to know!
I wish I had got around to asking people's opinion before today before it expires, but if anyone is able to give an opinion on this, I would appreciate it.
My song is here: https://www.taxi.com/members/ocDl4_2KTS ... amerifunka
Do you think it works for this listing below? (I specifically think it's closest to "Nightfalls", but would be interested in what others think)
Lots of MAINSTREAM COUNTRY INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a well-established International Music Publishing and Licensing Company that is expanding their catalogue!
NOTE: This Library is BRAND NEW to requesting music from TAXI, so this is a great opportunity to create a new relationship for your music with a very prestigious company! Trust us, this is a catalog you want to be in!
This Company is looking for a range of Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals in the general ballpark of the references below:
"AA" by Walker Hayes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp6T14iP2C4
"Last Night Lonely" by Jon Pardi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtsIM0_TCcU
"Arkansas" by Chris Stapleton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D3hMKn4x_8
"I Don't Mind" by Sturgill Simpson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYcmf9cRp7A
"Nightfalls" by Keith Urban https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il39baHbP2Y
"Guaranteed Broken Heart" by Karen & the Sorrows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8RiGhF68gQ
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals Only for this request.
Send them top-notch Country Instrumentals that work well for various TV, Film, and other media placements. Memorable motifs, inviting rhythms, excellent arrangements, tons of commercial appeal, and plenty of Country charm are all must-haves for this pitch. Your instrumentation can range on the Country spectrum (from traditional to incorporating Pop, Rock, Bluegrass, etc. elements), and should be generally competitive with the references and others like them. Craft your Instrumentals around a central motif and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Please be sure that your production is polished and any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and not dated.
Your submissions should be about 3 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use the references only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
NOTE: The bar will be high for this request. Please send your very best!
Thanks for any help you can give!

Jonathan, I agree it definitely fits the Pop Country sound. It sounds really good. It seems that it would fit the listing,

With the guitjo (?) mixed in with the guitar energy, ya had me thinking Keith Urban "The Fighter" and "Sweet Thing" (I think that's the title);
so Pop/Country seems like a good call.

Hey Mike! Thanks for lending me your ears,
It’s so funny… when I wrote that, “pop country” was definitely NOT what came to mind.
Thanks a lot for confirming it fits for this!

Re: Country Instro Feedback Request
Hey Peter! Cheers for listening and confirming that, very much appreciated.
And I will check out those two songs you mention, I don’t think I’ve heard them…

Re: Country Instro Feedback Request
There's an edge in the high-end this has, that Nightfalls doesn't have. I'm not sure how to get the silky sound of Nightfalls, maybe tape compression? Otherwise, I think you're right, you've nailed the overall vibe of Nightfalls and I think this should get forwarded.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
Michael

That's an interesting point about tape compression, I don't know much about that but just saw something online about that the other day. Hey, thanks for the listen, Michael, cheersmyk247365 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 3:58 pmThere's an edge in the high-end this has, that Nightfalls doesn't have. PS. My partner still can't believe that song is considered country, which was a shock to me, but I guess it just goes to show that the meaning of the word "country" has been evolving over time, and maybe we haven't been keeping up!
