Hi everybody,
I have a question.
I'm aware that, if I get a forward and later I get an opportuinity to sign with a library, they will ask for my IPI number and PRO number.
I don't have any IPI and PRO number at this time.
So I need to register with a PRO.
I've tried to do that yesterday with ASCAP.
In their "eligibility requirements for membership" they mentioned that I have to have publicly available musical material that I've written or co-written.
I don't. The only music material I have available to the public is on Soundcloud and YouTube, and I don't get any money for it
So I stop there, and did not complete my registration.
So what is the trick? How did you proceed the first time around?
How did you get your IPI number from your PRO without having publicly available musical material that you've wrote or co-wrote?
Oh and BTW, I'm canadian, so I've registered with SOCAN. They are asking for my PRO.
Thanks in advance!

You're Canadian, being registered with SOCAN is the obvious choice, so that's your PRO.
In your account on their website, you should find your IPI!
