AVANT-GARDE, ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a top-tier European Music Library with Major Distribution that focuses on placements in Feature Films.
NOTE: This new Company is BRAND NEW to requesting music from TAXI, so this is an excellent opportunity to create a new relationship for you and your music with a catalogue you're probably not in yet!
This Library is looking for moody Instrumentals (or Cues) that could be heard on a playlist with the following references:
"Erhu Da Gamba" by Ulrich Bassenge
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG3cwOKiyDk
"Legions (War)" by Zoë Keating
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fbeK3m_HlI
"Arlanda" by Julia Kent
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPrbbFUHVLU
Please send well-composed avant-garde, Orchestral Instrumentals (or Cues) with an overall dark, ominous, and moody vibe and feel. Your submissions should feature top-tier orchestral instrumentation (in the general wheelhouse of the references) and have innovative motifs and arrangements. We recommend crafting your pieces around a central motif and layering instrumentation in and out to create a sense of dynamics, layers, and forward motion. Your production should be polished and any virtual sounds or samples you use need to be high-quality and state-of-the-art – nothing dated or overly MIDI-driven will work.
Your submissions should be roughly 90 Seconds long for Cues, and about 2 to 3 minutes long for Instrumentals, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the Instrumentals you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies, Catalogs, or any "monetization"/sync, or publishing admin deals with TuneCore, CDBaby, SongTrust, etc. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Library. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. In some rare cases, there is the option to get an upfront payment in exchange for 20% - 30% of the writer's share – but that can be discussed directly with the Library. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Instrumentals or Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022. TAXI # S221116AV

Hey John, some cool ideas going on here! I’m not an orchestration expert, but mix-wise, the main melody instrument sounds a little too prominent and resonant in the lower frequencies to me. Also, I’d suggest removing the percussion altogether. There are timing issues, and it doesn’t really help the piece, in my opinion. Good luck with this! Doug

I agree regarding the lead instrument. I'll address that issue. Regarding the percussion, on purpose I randomly, in avant-garde fashion, played the parts irrespective of the timing of the rest on the ensemble. Knowing THAT, do you think it STILL just doesn't work?DouglasKnight wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 1:45 pmHey John, some cool ideas going on here! I decided that I didn't need the percussion as you suggested, so here's the new mix with a 2nd violin addition placed where the Percussion was.
