This is a very good point, maybe I tend to dismiss too many listings based on the "pop" label. But just yesterday, they were all "pop", and today again, all of them are "pop", and they very much get under my skin... But i hear your general point though that many elements can combine and you can still express your original talents, albeit in a different way.
Wow, congrats Paulie! Pretty nice.... Good example how more and more fusions are happening all the time.Paulie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 6:13 pmAs a classically trained classic jazz saxophone player, I never envisioned that I would make most of my tv money from urban Trap and action/tension instrumental cues. My first movie placement was this year and it was a jazz-influenced string quartet arrangement. I've also had success with dramedy, which often combines light classical elements with hip hop. Taxi regularly has listings for trailers, piano-centric tracks, classic jazz, blues, etc. It is possible to peruse Taxi listings before signing up, I don't think a disclaimer is needed.
You are right that Taxi regularly has listings for all sorts of genres, which is why I've stayed around and really benefited from the membership and helpful people like you guys regardless. I just think a sort of "state of play" pie chart would be helpful for a more bird's eyes view
Really? They could all be considered pop? Thanks for listening, but the blues and rock could be "pop"?
