Feedback for funky listing # S230406DJ

Hi Does my tune "Breakin'' In" fit this fun funky listing. # S230406DJ
https://soundcloud.com/user-168761198/breakin-in
Advice wanted.

Thanks for listening.

FUN, FUNKY INSTRUMENTALS with HORNS are needed by a very busy Music Library with a great track record of placements in Films and TV shows!

This Library is on the lookout for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals in the general ballpark of the following examples:

"We' are going to rob it" by Pemberton https://youtu.be/InAM6fE4C2Q

"Retro Groove" by Infraction Music https://youtu.be/92QtYtaKo94

"Retro Groove" by Bob Bradley & Andrew Griffiths https://youtu.be/QN6ojz8Wyo8

Quoting the Library: "Tracks should have lots of fun bass, percussion, funk guitar, and HORNS."

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals bursting with tons of fun, funky energy that could work well for a variety of Game Shows! Compelling motifs, energizing rhythms, and funky horn lines are all needed for this request. Instrumentation that falls in the general wheelhouse of the examples will suit your submissions best – think bass, electric guitars, drums, synths, etc. And don't forget the horns! Please be sure to craft your pieces around a central motif and layer instrumentation in and out as they progress to create interest, forward motion, and dynamics. Please be sure your production and any virtual sounds or samples you use are current-sounding and high-quality.

All submissions should be about 90 seconds to 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, button/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do not submit any material with unauthorized samples of other artists’ Songs, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

To me, there's something about the groove that isn't quite sitting right. Perhaps its the horns playing late or the bass playing ahead but it loses some of the funk feel, and it would help to tighten that up a little. However, your track is 3 minutes so it will be returned on length regardless of anything else.

Shortening it would give you an opportunity to sharpen up the arrangement so there's always something new happening and the loop repetitions are less obvious.

Graham (UK). Still composing a little faster than decomposing, and 100% HI.

I thought it was energetic and fun. Nice work. Cut it below 2 minutes and add some variation so it evolves and builds a bit better.

I think the bass and kick seem to be a bit far away. Could maybe come up in the mix. This track definitely has the great funky energy needed for the listing.

Yeah! All is good except the groove is not 100% in the pocket! Funk is all about being in the pocket. Check each instrument against the drums to make it tight AND cut it to be between 90 sec and 2 min. Very important. best of luck with the track!
