Mac Daddy feedback? ;-D

Post by JonathanE » Thu Mar 23, 2023 10:19 am

HI friends! Looking for feedback on my FUNK track Mac Daddy Super Funk. I think it's super fun :D

Is it good for this listing? https://www.taxi.com/industry#listing-S230406DJ

FUN, FUNKY INSTRUMENTALS with HORNS are needed by a very busy Music Library with a great track record of placements in Films and TV shows!

This Library is on the lookout for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals in the general ballpark of the following examples:

"We Are Going To Rob It" by Daniel Pemberton https://youtu.be/InAM6fE4C2Q

"Retro Groove" by Infraction Music https://youtu.be/92QtYtaKo94

"Retro Groove" by Bob Bradley & Andrew Griffiths https://youtu.be/QN6ojz8Wyo8

Quoting the Library: "Tracks should have lots of fun bass, percussion, funk guitar, and HORNS."

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals bursting with tons of fun, funky energy that could work well for a variety of Game Shows! Compelling motifs, energizing rhythms, and funky horn lines are all needed for this request. Instrumentation that falls in the general wheelhouse of the examples will suit your submissions best – think bass, electric guitars, drums, synths, etc. And don't forget the horns! Please be sure to craft your pieces around a central motif and layer instrumentation in and out as they progress to create interest, forward motion, and dynamics. Please be sure your production and any virtual sounds or samples you use are current-sounding and high-quality.

All submissions should be about 90 seconds to 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, button/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone.

Yeah pretty fun and in the ballpark

Not 100% sure about the production, everything seems a little Lo-Fi and small sounding and the main guitar sounds like it's coming out of a tin can to so it pokes out of the mix. I would maybe revisit any master buss type stuff and reference it with some similiar tracks.

The flute part takes me out of the vibe a little - I think you can stand to lose it.

It's got the energy and feel though so I thikn you'll be okay.
