Hey Doug, great track! I think your writing is on brief and you've got some catchy licks reshaped nicely throughout the lead guitar. The biggest thing I notice is the production. Your mix is great and super clear, but it doesn't sound like the 50's which is what the brief seems to be looking for.

"This Library has a strong preference for authentic, high-quality VINTAGE recordings (recorded back in the 1950s), but is also open to hearing very convincing, recently recorded Songs in the general production style of music from that era."

Your mix has got to be convincing that is from the 50's. They didn't have the clarity and low end we're used to in modern productions. There are a slew of plugins out there that emulate some of this retro gear, but you can also create some of those sounds with things that are free or you likely have already. The biggest thing to my ear being the EQ. Take your track and mix it while going back and forth with a popular track in a similar style. Chuck Berry comes to mind for me :D

I think it's a very cool blues track 8-) , well done, but I'm not hearing similarity to the references: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/QuartzM3 ... he_fifties_/

Might be better to repurpose it as a general blues track, forget the 50s listing. Great piano playing! :D

I totally agree with the post above. Great track, great sound, great playing and bang on brief - apart from the sound being a bit too modern possibly. Izotope Vinyl (free) might help get closer to the sound of the era (and you don't need the crackles) but there are probably many other ways to get the desired effect. Good luck with the submission.
Thanks a lot for listening and for the feedback!
