Anyone else read the fine print of a licensing offer from CapCut through MusicReports?

No I've never heard of either of them. You can't get in without an account.

This might be a good use of ChatGPT actually, you can copy / paste legal stuff into it and ask it to summerize it into a handful of bullet points if you're seeking some clarification

Even I would be very cautious with that! :D

Works really well, ChatGPT is great for summarizing anything you give it. A work colleague forwarded me a big long email chain of a about 20 emails and asked if I could follow up with the client. I pasted it into Chat and within a few seconds it had told me the gist of the information without me having to read the whole chain.

Then my wife had a letter from a solicitor about an accident claim that's been ongoing since before Covid . Lots of legal jargon, I banged it into ChatGPT and turned out we didn't need to do anything it was just a letter they were required to send because they had increased some of their charges ( even though it's a no win no fee scenario ) and instead wading through 3 pages of legal guff I got a simple summary very quickly.

I use it for the same thing, but to summarize industry articles my peers post in LInkedIn. However, it is a good idea to tell ChatGPT what role it should play before providing a summary. I had it summarize a technical article and it first gave me a generic overview with none of the technical meat that mattered.

For example, instead of "summarize the following article," start with "I want you to act as a copyright lawyer. Analyze the following document. Provide me with an Executive Summary paragraph followed by a bullet list with the main points and any associated action items for the recipient. Then provide a list of potential issues if no action is taken."

It won't be perfect, but it will certainly help to add context.
