PC ... For decades. It was destiny, the day job workstation evolved right in to the music workstation

Though I've always been a tad Mac-curious

(edited to include blown speaker experience)

Just to comment on the question of repair: My experience on my MacBook has been good mixed.

Good experience:
In 2019, my 2015 MacBook developed problems - the screen wasn't working. I overnighted it to Apple, and they repaired it the same day they got it. I think I sent on Monday and had it back on Wednesday. It cost $500+ but I think I got practically everything replaced except for the metal body and the keyboard.

Some time after that, the speaker started sounding terrible. I just started using an external speaker.

Then a few months ago, some keys started sticking. Went to an Apple store, they cleaned the keyboard and replaced one of the keys. No charge.

Bad experience:
At the same time, I asked about the speaker. They said the machine was too old to repair.

But I'm still using this 2015 machine. (But we are mostly using a much newer M1 for music production.)

And this is the beef, you should be able to take it to an independant repair shop or buy the parts to fix it yourself if capable...but they won't make the spares available
